Time to dive into the third major type of shimmy: vibration shimmy!
We have already worked on knees and hips shimmies in previous intensives at the Iana Dance Club. Now it’s time to dive into the third major type of shimmy: vibration shimmy!Â
This intensive consists of two major parts:
1. Short daily exercises (a few minutes a day)
2. Three 20-min dance tutorials per week with combos and drills to work on your vibration shimmy.

Suggested duration: 3 weeks
If you follow our suggested duration of three weeks, get ready to invest 1-1,5 hour per week in your training. But remember, you can always go through this intensive at your own pace. Three weeks is just a suggested structure.
Examples of Technique Drills included in this intensive:
- The Concept of Vibration shimmy: Vibration shimmy is different from the knees shimmy due to muscle activation. But what exactly does it mean, and which exact muscles should work during this movement?
- Vertical Circle with Shimmy: Let's try with funky layering of vertical circle with one hip and vibration shimmy.
- Full-Body Vibration: How about transforming a controlled isolated vibration shimmy into a full-body 'shake'?
- Checking Shimmy-Arms Coordination: One more mega shimmy workout! We are gonna layer the same arm sequence on top of 5 different shimmies. So get ready to sweat while checking your body coordination and any potential muscle locks.
