This eight-week program focuses on Egyptian-style hip technique, emphasizing nuanced accents and shimmy layering. Each week features a short, specific combo to explore one concept at a time. Unlike previous intensives, you will first experience movement physically before receiving deeper conceptual explanations.
Some drills and combinations will repeat throughout the program, allowing you to refine technical precision and artistic interpretation with each revisit.
The intensive also includes creative exercises that encourage dancers to integrate mini-combos into their own choreographies or improvisations. Rather than covering a wide range of movements, this course aims to delve into the essence of Egyptian hip work—its subtlety, sensitivity, and expressive layering.
